You can count on 5Heart Earthworm Farm for in-class presentations, demos, field trips, and more!

Hands-On Learning to Fit Your STEM Curriculum
Have 5Heart’s educators give a presentation on worm anatomy, composting, and soil health in your classroom! We’ve worked with both elementary and high school classes to teach the importance of earthworms and how they benefit our soil, food, and even air quality!
We also provide both short-term and long-term worm bin activities for the classroom that can provide students with the skills they need in order to compost food scraps with worms at home. In the past, we’ve helped maintain in-class worm bins throughout the year with horticulture classes, science classes and more!
Our presentations can be altered to fit your classroom’s curriculum and age group. Contact us to inquire today!
Exploration & Activities: Down on the Farm
Whether your students attend public school or are homeschooled, we gladly welcome all field trips! Students will have the opportunity to learn about earthworms with a brief interactive presentation, explore our worm barn and dig around in the worm beds, and take a trip out to our composting area! Our farm is accessible and has plenty of seating. A bathroom and hand-washing station are also available. Take in the beautiful rural scenery during the spring, summer and fall!
Field trips on the farm last approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour per group. Take-home worksheets, fact sheets, or coloring pages can be provided. Contact us to learn more and get a custom quote!

Learn with the Worms!
Every summer, we host our 5Heart Day Camp for children ages 8-12! Have your kids join us for a day of learning, discovery, and outdoor education where they get to become a worm scientist and get hands-on with the help of our environmental educators. After spending the day with us, they’ll gain a new appreciation for our wiggly friends and playing in the dirt. We make it fun to Learn with the Worms!
Day camp activities happen indoors and out, rain or shine. Snacks and water are provided for break times throughout the day. Our day camp generally lasts from 8:30am to 4:00pm. Look for our event announcement on Facebook and on our website as the event grows closer!
